Is your pet microchipped yet?  To celebrate Microchip Awareness Week (March 7-11, 2016), we are offering a Microchip Clinic with $10 off regular pricing on microchips! Call our office for more details or to schedule an appointment. As part of the Microchip Clinic we will also be donating to local animal rescue, AC PAW.

What is a microchip? A microchip is a tiny computer chip, about the size of a grain of rice, programmed with an identification number. The chip is enclosed in biocompatible glass and is small enough to fit into a hypodermic needle. Once an animal is injected with a microchip, it can be identified throughout its life with its own individual number.

What does this mean? Microchips are permanent and can’t be lost, altered, or destroyed. Thanks to microchips, pet owners have been reunited with their pets that have been missing for years or that have traveled many miles from home. If your pet is lost and is found and brought to a vet’s office or shelter they can scan for a microchip which will have your pet’s unique identification number. This number can be tied to your phone number and help bring little Fido home.
